0x Protocol

0x Protocol

0x is an Ethereum-based open-source platform for exchanging cryptocurrencies. It allows for the creation of features in a decentralized exchange (DEX), a wallet or a marketplace.

51% Attack

51% Attack

A 51% attack refers to a malicious actor (or a group), controlling over 50% of the total mining power of the blockchain network and disrupting the integrity of the blockchain.

Automated Market Maker (AMM)

Automated Market Maker (AMM)

Circulating Supply

Circulating Supply

The total number of circulating coins or tokens that are publicly available and circulating in the market. This doesn't count the coins or tokens that are locked up in escrow.

Coinbase

Coinbase

A coinbase is the number of coins that are generated from scratch and awarded to miners for mining every new block.

Consensus

Consensus

Consensus is heart of decentralized networks, and decision making model that ensures security of the network.

Consensus is achieved when all participants of the network agree on the order and content of the blocks in the blockchain, it also helps to keep the bad actors out of the network. PoW, PoS are some of the known consensus models.

ERC 1155

ERC-1155

ERC-1155 includes optimizations that make transactions more efficient and secure.

Secure token transfer is one of the most promising features of the ERC-1155 token which is accomplished through a function that verifies that the transaction was completed successfully, and in case it wasn’t fulfilled, the tokens involved in the transaction are reverted back to their issuer.

ERC 20

ERC-20

The ERC-20 introduces a standard for Fungible Tokens on Ethereum platform. This standard allows developers to build tokens that are interoperable with other products and services.

ERC 721

ERC-721

ERC-721 refers to a standard for non-fungible token (NFT) on the Ethereum blockchain. This mean that each token is unique, and as a result, not interchangeable.

Hash Rate

Hash Rate

The speed at which a computer or mining hardware is able to calculate new hashes. Usually measured in hashes per second. It is a measure of how fast a cryptocurrency miner's machines complete the computations.

Max Supply

Max Supply

The total number of coins or tokens that will ever exist in the lifetime of the crypto currency.

Max Supply = Coins Minted + Coins to be Mined
